We are a husband-and-wife photo and video team who are always on the lookout for great outdoor spaces for weddings. This means we were very excited about Nate + Nicole’s wedding day at The Bluffs in Fishers, Indiana. It is a perfect location for an outdoor fall wedding and large windows in the reception space to gaze at the lovely views.

The Bluffs at Conner Prairie wedding venue is a stunning location on the bluffs of the White River. It’s peacefully surrounded by the woods and complete with views of the river. The Bluffs at Conner Prairie was created as a product of Ritz Charles collaborating with Conner Prairie. This venue connects the past with the future in its renovation of Eli Lilly’s historical Chinese house and added pavilion.

From the forested lane to the pavilion surrounded with glass windows, The Bluffs at Conner Prairie immerses its guests into the beauty of nature. With a forest ceremony space, cocktail hour on the patio, and indoor area that gazes over the woods, The Bluffs grants an outdoor experience combined with modern convenience.

We enjoyed documenting Nate + Nicole’s fall wedding day here and are excited to return in 2026 for a summer wedding!

Favorite Photo Locations at The Bluffs at Conner Prairie Wedding Venue:

• Getting ready spaces in The Chinese House (bride and groom both have little suites on site that work great for final touches of getting ready)
• Wooded area and trail to the west of the venue (perfect for a first look and sunset portraits)
• Forest Ceremony Gate (add some personal florals to the gate and it’s perfect for couple portraits, solo portraits, wedding party and family portraits)
• The Pavilion (a well-lit area covered with windows that makes for a stunning ceremony space should weather be stubborn and/or reception space)
• The wooded space to the north of the property by the parking lot (offers some pretty wooded views with good lighting for sunset portraits)

Nate + Nicole’s Wedding Day

Warm sunshine, golden leaves, and pure joy made Nate + Nicole’s wedding day truly special. During one of our first calls, I remember them hoping to have pretty foliage on their day. Well, nature delivered the perfect fall colors for these two.

With an intimate wedding ceremony and intentional time for just the two of them, N+N prioritized what made them happy. They even brought their sweet pup, Huck, along for all of it and he was the bestest boy.

N+N were so much fun to photograph—they were at ease with one another and so happy that their wedding day was here. Their joy shows through in every photo and their intentionality with each other and their guests was lovely.

Nate + Nicole’s dance floor was a blast! Everything that DJ Fred played had guests joining on the floor to dance, drink, and celebrate! For guests who wanted to take a  break, they ventured outside onto the patio surrounded by fall trees for fresh air and to talk before returning to the dance floor.

Favorite Moments to Document at The Bluffs at Conner Prairie:

• Let’s be honest, Huckleberry stole the show, haha. For real though, he was the best boy as mom got ready, he posed in all of the photos, and he laid down during the outdoor ceremony as he watched his parents say, “I do.”
• N+N decided to exchange letters before their first look and this was a favorite moment. It was peaceful and allowed for them to set intentions and focus on one another right before they saw each other in their wedding attire.
• Nate + Nicole had the prettiest colors combined with beautiful fall colors and we couldn’t get enough! The blues, golds, and maroons were lovely combined with the virbrant yellow leaves outside.
• What’s better than a forest ceremony complete with the sun shining through the trees, birds chirping, a gentle breeze blowing, and the brightest yellow leaves on the trees?? Surrounded by friends and family with a dear friend officiating, Nate + Nicole shared their vows in the serenity of nature.
• Sunset portraits are always a highlight of wedding days and N+N’s portraits were no exception! They enjoyed a moment to celebrate just the two of them while exploring trails with views of the river and soaking up the peaceful golden hour light breaking through the forest of yellow trees.
• What a fun dance floor!! Nate, Nicole, and their guests were 100% ready to dance the night away and that’s exactly what they did. Guests would occasionally step outside onto the patio of the pavilion to mingle with their drinks in hand—perfect for a fall evening in October.
• Nate + Nicole had a beautiful last dance. Their guests made their way out and the two swayed calming to a song just for them as their wedding day wrapped up.
