As a husband-and-wife photo and video team who love being outdoors, we love when our couples want to have an outdoor ceremony. The Barn at Timber Ridge has a beautiful ceremony spot with a lake behind it—dreamy for couples who love fresh air and pretty views!

The Barn at Timber Ridge is located a handful of miles from Nashville, Indiana encompassed by rolling hills, cozy woods, and stunning lakes. It feels like you’ve been transported to the southern hospitality of Tennessee. From the vintage décor to the all-inclusive perks and planning assistance, they have a lot to offer couples who crave rustic charm.

With two outdoor ceremony options (Timberview and Lakeview) as well as the flexibility of moving the ceremony inside, The Barn at Timber Ridge has options for couples no matter the season! Their barn is filled with modern conveniences from reception to back-up wedding space. They even have a spot to roast s’mores over a fire in the evening!

Favorite Photo Locations at The Barn at Timber Ridge:

• The deck and pond by the willow trees—great for couple portraits and wedding party photos!
• The Lakeside Ceremony space is beautiful for the ceremony, couple portraits, and family photos! Love the big doors that open up to the space which creates a fun and dramatic element to the location.
• The open, grassy space near the barn allows for lots of play and large groups. –perfect for sunset portraits for the couple as well!
• The front of the barn is an excellent spot as it is a covered space while still being outside. It works great for first looks and wedding party portraits.

Fall Outdoor Wedding

Damon + Abbi’s Wedding Day

Abbi + Damon had the prettiest September wedding day at The Barn at Timber Ridge with a color palette that was the perfect bridge between summer and autumn.

After getting to photograph their engagement, we were so excited to capture their wedding day from behind our lenses. These two are so comfortable with one another and the joy they have when they are together can be felt by all who see them.

They were surrounded by those who love them dearly, including their son, Grayson. The atmosphere was very celebratory, and their sweet smiles and glances towards each other said it all.

Wedding in the Woods

Abbi specifically wanted a location where she could see the water and the woods on her wedding day. They knew this was the venue for them when they saw the Lakeside Ceremony Site—a wedding ceremony in the woods overlooking the lake.

Surrounded by their favorite people, Damon + Abbi had a great time getting ready! Abbi even had a first look with her bridesmaids before her sweet first look with Damon.

D+A smiled their entire ceremony. They were in a beautiful location with the sun shining on them. The ceremony ended with a perfectly dramatic dip kiss as they walked up the aisle!

As they danced into their reception with their wedding party, guests were on their feet! Their closest people shared sentimental toasts, the couple enjoyed a choreographed first dance, and they tasted a beautiful cake made by the bride herself.

A warm, fall sunset was the backdrop as Damon + Abbi played in the grass and leaves for some portraits before they rejoined their reception. Guests of all ages socialized and cut a rug on the dance floor. When they wanted a break from dancing, they could hop outside for some s’mores by the fire. Towards the end of the night, bubbles and cheers surrounded Damon + Abbi as they made their exit.

Favorite Moments to Document at The Barn at Timber Ridge:

• Abbi + Damon had the sweetest first look. The joy on their faces showed just how truly excited they were to see each other and get married.
• Their color palette was gorgeous—a perfect bridge between summer colors and fall colors that photographed so well!
• The vintage and antique vibes were made personal with real family wedding photographs lining the entryway into the reception. It was a very cool tribute to their family members’ love stories.
• It was the most beautiful day to have an outdoor ceremony. The setting was lovely and their son, Grayson, running up to them during the ceremony was so sweet!
• Even though it was early fall, there were some leaves on the ground and it was a lot of fun to play around in the leaves for their sunset portraits.
• Damon + Abbi’s bubble exit surrounded by cheering guests was a moment to capture—so full of celebration and emotion!

I assisted Mika LH Photography for this wedding at The Barn at Timber Ridge. It was an August wedding filled with colorful wildflowers and included the couple’s sweet pup. As you can see, the Barn at Timber Ridge looks great with many different color schemes from summer to fall. It’s a perfect spot for outdoorsy couples to create a dreamy wedding experience surrounded by southern charm.
