We’ve been so fortunate to document a couple weddings at Ash and Oak Weddings and they’ve been lovely! We love that this is a local gem on the west side of Indianapolis.

Ash and Oak Weddings offers fun and charm for couples—it’s a warm, inviting space surrounded by nature with indoor and outdoor options. Being surrounded by 35 acres of nature including farmland, grassy hills, a creek, and woods, Ash and Oak is full of lovely backdrops for all parts of a wedding day. 

Avon Indiana Wedding Venues

Dajana + Nick got married on a beautiful November day in Avon, Indiana. Their son was the cutest ring bearer in his little suit and bow tie! It was truly a day full of happy faces, supportive family + friends, stunning sunshine, and warmth. Their day was full of intention and having their favorite people all in one place.

Emily + Dylan’s wedding brought with it some serious spring weather! Sunny weather graced us until a few moments before the outside ceremony when there came rumblings of thunder. Ash and Oak moved everything safely inside and Emily + Dylan got married in the barn. The weather didn’t bother them and the sunshine showed up in all its glory for their sunset portraits. This just goes to show that a little bit of rain doesn’t ruin a wedding day-it only creates memories!

Barn Wedding at Ash and Oak Weddings

Ash and Oak Wedding Venue is a venue that combines timeless beauty, modern charm, and a little taste of country. It is tucked away in a beautiful little spot in Avon, Indiana surrounded by grass, a creek, and pretty trees. For those who love being outside and the feel of the country, but enjoy modern convenience, Ash and Oak Weddings is a great venue option.

From the outdoor ceremony space under a big catalpa tree, to the wrap around porch, temperature-controlled barn, serene creek, rolling hills, and getting ready suites, Ash and Oak Weddings has what you need! Their staff is helpful as well to make sure you have a stress-free experience. We have loved working at this venue multiple times and hope to return in the future!

1. Bridge + creek area (perfect for sunset portraits)
2. Open grassy area with barn in the background (wonderful for couple’s portraits or wedding party portraits)
3. Outdoor ceremony space (a lovely area with a big catalpa behind)
4. Barn space (charming area covered in twinkle lights and chandeliers for a fun dance floor or a small indoor ceremony)
5. Silos (unique space with cocktail tables set up for mingling or even a last dance outside under the twinkle lights and stars)

Avon Barn Wedding Venue

Dajana + Nick

Dajana + Nick’s day was beautiful from start to finish with the sun shining through the windows as they got ready and we photographed their details. They each enjoyed a special drink—Dajana popped champagne and Nick enjoyed some whiskey gifted to him by Dajana.

N+D were surrounded by a wonderful, big, happy wedding party. Their friends and family were so invested in their celebrations and it was lovely to witness.

Their outdoor ceremony was a dream. N+D had their son ride down the aisle in a wagon for mom and dad’s big day. It was during sunset under the catalpa tree and they had a close friend officiating. They were all smiles and everyone in attendance was happy for them.

Sunset portraits for N+D were lovely. The crescent moon was already out and the sky was clear. They ran and played and laughed together on a crisp fall night. It was time for them to enjoy one another and reflect on their beautiful wedding day.

Dajana + Nick danced with their friends and family to end their night—even Nick’s grandma was out on the dance floor! It was a true celebration in every sense of the word and smiles were found on everyone’s faces.

Emily + Dylan

Emily + Dylan has a lovely spring wedding day complete with cowboy hats and boots. The western/country theme was solid on their day with the barn, tractor, and silos!

Rain came through right before the ceremony, but Ash & Oak was incredible and moved everything safely inside before the rain hit. Dylan’s dad officiated their ceremony which was a special touch.

E+D were all about having fun and after cutting their cake during the ceremony, made sure to smash some cake in each other’s faces. You could tell they were having fun and it was great to see!

We will always recommend sunset portraits for every couple on their wedding. This was built into Emily + Dylan’s day and we had the best lighting. It might have rained during the ceremony, but the sun came out beautifully for their sunset photos. They were able to share a few peaceful minutes together and reflect on their day.

E+D shares some time on the big porch outside the barn after sunset and right before they shared their last dance. It was such a calm close to their spring wedding day.

Favorite Moments to Document at Ash and Oak Weddings:

1. Dajana + Nick’s son in his cute little suit all dressed up for mom + dad’s big day!
2. Emily + her bridesmaids piling onto the bed in their matching pajama sets all laughing together.
3. The sun beams pouring through the windows onto the floor as we photographed N+D personal details.
4. How Emily + Dylan smashed cake during their cake cutting-they truly had fun!
5. The way the sun set behind Nick + Dajana during their sunset ceremony under the big catalpa tree.
6. Emily + Dylan shared a last dance at the end of their night surrounded by twinkle lights.
7. The dance floor for N+D was lit-their friends and family were interacting the with camera and having so much fun dancing and singing.
8. Rain decided to show up on E+D’s day right before their ceremony, but thankfully the rain went away and the sun came through for stunning sunset portraits by the creek.
9. Nick and his grandma made a root beer float together-it was something the two of them always shared together growing up and they wanted to enjoy that on his wedding day.
10. All of the cowboy hats and boots were a perfect fit in coordinating with the country/barn theme for Emily + Dylan’s day-Dylan even hopped on the tractor!
