As a husband-and-wife photo and video team who love outdoor weddings, we were excited to capture a styled shoot at the charming Lizton Lodge. This venue is full of beautiful outdoor locations surrounded by nature while being conveniently located on the west side of Indianapolis.

Fairytale Wedding Venue

Lizton Lodge is a unique venue with a fairytale feel. It used to be a private residence on the westside of Indianapolis in Lizton that was transformed into a beautiful event space that is perfect for weddings. The space is 22,000 square feet sitting on 100 acres of land that includes a pond, beautiful woods, and an amazing place to watch the sunset.

Lizton Lodge knows that options are important, so they have multiple stunning outdoor locations for outdoorsy couples to celebrate. They also have lovely indoor spaces for couples who should weather cause a change of plans.

We enjoyed getting to explore this venue through a styled shoot and hope to return in the future!

Favorite Photo + Video Locations at Lizton Lodge Wedding Venue:

• The Ballroom (great for indoor ceremony, cocktail hour, or family portraits if it’s rainy)
• White Hall (brightly lit and perfect for indoor reception)
• Chapel Pond (this was a favorite for sure-beautiful for an outdoor ceremony and couple portraits)
• Canopy Light Courtyard (versatile for an outdoor ceremony OR intimate outdoor reception space; beautiful in the evening with the lights above)
• The Meadow (open fields and blue skies for a stunning outdoor ceremony)
• The Woods (if you want a wooded backdrop for an intimate outdoor ceremony)
• Sunset Hill (perfect place to take sunset photos and other portraits)

Deepika + Alex were so sweet and smiley which made our job easy. They were very much at ease with one another and in the mood to have fun. Deepika’s long veil was fun to incorporate into photos and looked epic blowing in the wind. They were snuggly as the cool wind was blowing and embraced the sunny, spring day!

Mia was lovely. She was easy to talk to, beautiful, and up for anything! Getting to capture her amidst the stunning flower installations in the courtyard was our favorite. She looked like she belonged in a field of flowers in that moment. Her gown was covered in pearls and so was her veil which made for some fun detail shots.

Tristan + Maison were ready to have a good time! We loved getting to document them in the Chapel Pond area especially. With the a-frame and flowers as a backdrop, it was gorgeous. Their portraits surrounded by the pond are some of our favorites along with sharing a dance inside The White Hall.

Favorite Moments to Document at Lizton Lodge Wedding Venue:

• The outdoor ceremony at Chapel Pond was a highlight. The flowers, the sunshine, and the pond behind Tristan + Maison created a perfect outdoorsy location surrounded by the beauty of nature.
• Outdoor reception space in the Canopy Light Courtyard was romantic and allowed for more time spent in the outdoors in a beautiful area that would be wonderful in the evening under the twinkling lights.
• More blue + yellow color palettes please!! This color combo looked beautiful in this venue and coordinated very well with spring season.
• Loved balcony time together with Tristan + Maison. They were able to steal a quiet moment away in the bridal suite on the balcony just the two of them and it was so peaceful.
• It was a cool day and at one point, Deepika was with Alex outside and she was cozied up to him with goosebumps. Not a fan of chilly weather, but we are fans of snuggling up to your partner!!
• Enjoyed having a perfect space to take flatlay photos indoors. The window light was perfect to capture these stunning details.
• Deepika + Alex walking outside in front of the venue with Deepika’s veil blowing in the breeze. It was a magical moment!
