This Kennedy Estate Wedding was gorgeous, vibrant, and filled with sheer joy! From the vivid colors and luscious ferns to the comfortable feeling of family and love, Shelby and Joey’s wedding was chef’s kiss.
I met Shelby when I was a youth group sponsor at Cornerstone Christian Church in Brownsburg. She was one of the students I got connected with and I got to serve alongside her mom and dad as fellow youth sponsors, so we all go back a few years.
When I was asked to photograph Shelby + Joey’s wedding, I was so honored! When they told me the date, I was dorky excited. Why? Because Jonathan and I now have the same wedding anniversary as these two!
Joey + Shelby are so genuine and sweet. And if you want to know something extra sweet, they grew up together. How many people can say they actually got to marry their best friend?
Their wedding day was so Christ-centered and Shelby + Joey were surrounded by loving family and friends. It was a warm June day, but their smiles never faded. They were relaxed around one another and incredibly happy.
The Kennedy Estate Lizton, Indiana
The barn at Kennedy Estate is a gem. The area where the girls got ready was lovely and had gorgeous lighting. The ladies were full of laughter of fun. This meant I had a huge smile on my face every time I was up here documenting Shelby getting ready.
To see the barn at lit up with twinkle lights was dreamy. The summer vibes were strong and you’ll never hear me complain about that.
Combine the twinkly lights, the warm summer glow from the sunshine, and the flickering candles with the vibrant florals and it was a summer day wrapped up in a bow for this Kennedy Estate wedding.
Shelby did a great job picking out her wedding colors and the florist, Angela, was amazing! If you get a chance, you need to check out Solstice Floral and see more of Angela’s work. It’s incredible.
The barn deck was perfect for Shelby + Joey’s bridal party photos, but also for mingling guests. Just imagine this space at sunset with the twinkling lights above.
Not only is the barn stunning, but so are the grounds and the outdoor ceremony space at The Kennedy Estate in Lizton, Indiana. The ceremony space is spread out comfortably and the giant trees complete the look!
This little grove of trees is perfect for bridal party photos, couple’s portraits, family images, or all the above. And there’s even this romantic little swing.
June Weddings
I truly loved capturing Shelby + Joey’s first look. The excitement on their faces and watching them both relax because they were together was lovely. First looks have an air of magic to them and this first look was no different.
After their first look and before the ceremony, there was time to capture couple’s portraits of Shelby + Joey. Shelby had the prettiest veil, so we decided to have some fun with that in their portraits! She was so happy, and these images are truly some of my absolute favorites from the entire day.
Shelby and Joey were so easy to photograph because they were simply having fun and being themselves. Each moment that they were together showed off their compatibility, their love for one another, and their ability to have fun.
To end the night at this Kennedy Estate wedding, there was a sparkler send-off! Everyone lined the walkway out of the barn, and it was once again filled with the magic of a warm summer night. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
I wish Joey + Shelby deep joy and happiness in their marriage and I am honored that I was asked to be a part of their day.
