One World at Woolery Mill in Bloomington, IN combines modern, industrial vibes with a touch of nature as a perfect location for those who desire an outdoor wedding experience with convenience. For couples who want an inclusive wedding day with plenty of amenities, Woolery Mill might be the perfect spot.

As a husband-and-wife photo and video team who love summer weddings, we were really looking forward to Emma + Evan’s wedding day at Woolery Mill. This venue was beautiful for their day and it was conveniently located in Bloomington, Indiana—which is where Emma and Evan met.

Industrial Wedding Venues

One World at Woolery Mill is an industrial venue with incredible indoor and outdoor options for weddings.  With incredibly tall ceilings, exposed beams, and tons of windows to let in natural light, Woolery Mill creates a clean, open space to celebrate your wedding. They also know that options are important so they have multiple beautiful outdoor locations for outdoorsy couples to celebrate as well.

Woolery Mill connects the past with the future in its historical renovation in Bloomington. They strive to help their community through nonprofits in the area and hold their standards high for sustainability. (Which if you know us, this is very important to us as well-we wrote a whole blog about eco-friendly weddings here!) They started in the catering world and expanded to create an incredible, inclusive venue space.

We truly loved not only getting to work at this venue, but also the things that they value. We hope to return in the future!!

Favorite Photo + Video Locations at One World at Woolery Mill:

• Getting ready spaces (areas allow for privacy and great natural light inside or nearby the suites)
• Wooded/grassy space to the west of the venue (perfect for sunset portraits, wedding party portraits, or family portraits)
• The Mill (a viney area for couple portraits as well as a large open area for wedding party portraits-well-lit and includes a “Bloomington” sign and industrial vibes)
• The West Patio + Fountain Area (a lovely area with limestone rock and the mill behind it perfect for an outdoor ceremony, first look, or portraits)
• The Event Hall (a well-lit area covered with windows that makes for a stunning ceremony space and/or reception space)
• The East Patio (awesome for a smaller ceremony, cocktail hour, and portraits)
• The Mezzanine (works well for family portraits as it is tucked away)

Emma + Evan’s Wedding Day

Emma + Evan had a beautiful summer day from start to finish—it was filled with sunshine that poured into the windows. It did have a lot of humidity and warm temps which made them decide to move their ceremony inside. The vibe was stunning even with a change in plans.

After getting ready, Emma + Evan shared a private first look on the West Patio and couple portraits in the mill with the climbing vines. They loved the combination of nature with industry and so did we! Their wedding party was so much fun and we had a blast taking their photos all together in this vast space in the shade.

E+E created their dream wedding experience surrounded by their favorite people. They wanted to have a larger wedding day and wanted to do a photo dash at their reception to capture all their guests.

Evan + Emma were so comfortable with one another—it showed in every single image of them truly being present in the moment and focused on caring for one another so well.

We had a blast with E+E all day, but especially on the dance floor! For those who didn’t want to dance, they mingled outside on the West Patio. This was a perfect location on a beautiful summer night to celebrate life and love.

Another Wedding Look at Woolery Mill

I assisted Mika LH Photography for a wedding at Woolery Mill. This was a late summer wedding with lots of bright, bold colors as you can see below. Woolery Mill looks great with soft colors, bold colors, and anything in between. It’s versatile and allows couples to create a very custom experience from color palette to indoor/outdoor venue options.

Favorite Moments to Document at One World at Woolery Mill:

• The weather was hot and humid for their June wedding day and the night before the wedding, Emma + Evan changed their ceremony to be indoors. The venue was fantastic to get this taken care of and the indoor ceremony was beautiful with all the natural light pouring in through the big windows.
• E+E had a big, energetic wedding party which made for so much fun and joy in all their celebrating together.
• Getting photos taken in the actual mill surrounded by the gorgeous climbing vines was a high point and a perfect reminder of nature finding a way to thrive and grow.
• Emma + Evan had stunning colors for their day that coordinated with the summertime weather. The wildflowers, her custom flower nail art, and the floral bridesmaid dresses looked perfect.
• E+E’s sunset portraits were beautiful. They enjoyed running through the grass and watching the sun cast a golden glow onto everything as they took a deep breath together.  
• As the night went on, the guests popped outside onto the west patio where the music could be enjoyed and people could mingle with their drinks in hand-perfect for a summer evening.
• A super fun dance floor! E+E’s guests were here to enjoy a party and celebrate the couple!
